Question by Brad: what is the best online school to learn web design?
I work full time and have a family but am very interested in learning everything about computers but mainly web design. I already have a bachelors degree. I would have no problem getting into a large university but I definitely need something online. Thanks.

I can’t go to a campus school for web design so I have to go with the online route. Is there a better online school or is the Art Institute adequate? Please don’t respond if you’re just going to tell me not to do web design or not to do online school. Just answer my question directly. Thanks!

Your fine with that. You really just need to get your hands on training for the software and follow tutorials.
I did fine with Art Institute of Miami Online and built up a web design company.
The big picture… After school jump into a career/slave at an agency for a few years. Steal as many clients as you can to start your own company. Don’t feel bad about it. Most ad agencies and companies in general start out this way.

I’m aware that this is probably not a great job, but it is what I would like to do. If not both, at least one. I’m just not sure what exactly I need to take, I thought maybe just education but How would that narrow down to web design and graphic design?

You have to further go for higher studies in the faculty which you desire to be a teacher to high school students. Design/graphic is a vast area which is developing day-by-day. Do according to your own ambitions. Good luck.

Question by : How much preparation is needed to take a Web Design program at school and what should I do to prepare?
I’m going to school for web design in January 2011 and I’m afraid that I’ll be surpassed by other students. I don’t know how much prior knowledge people go into the program with. I am fluent with HTML and CSS so I just need to know if that should be sufficient or what I can do to make absolutely sure I will be prepared.

Chill its why its called school, so people are more advance does that mean anything.
I went to college for music business/theory I can play music but couldn’t write it can be complex however when I took the class I passed some people who played music for years.

What are the schools with the best curriculum in web design and development? The best one that I found that had both is Full Sail in Orlando.

hands down, MIT and all of those bigger schools. from what i have found though, michigan has the best program.
